The shaft (or stem) is the part of your dart between the barrel and the flight. It screws into the barrel, usually with a standard 2BA thread, and holds the flight in place. At Dartshop DAS Roggel you will find dart shafts from Target, Winmau, Harrows, Mission, Unicorn, Red Dragon and L-Style, in every length and many colours.

Which length suits you?

Shafts usually come in extra short, short, inbetween, medium and long. The length changes the balance of your dart: a longer shaft moves the centre of gravity back and gives a steadier flight, a shorter shaft makes the flight tighter and flatter. Which length works best depends on your throw, so feel free to try a few lengths.

Which material should you choose?

• Nylon shafts: light, affordable and available in many colours. Ideal for trying out lengths, but they can break sooner.
• Aluminium shafts: strong and slim. A rubber O-ring stops them from working loose.
• Carbon shafts: light, strong and long-lasting.
• Polycarbonate shafts: strong and flexible, they break less easily than ordinary nylon shafts. For example Target Pro Grip, Winmau Prism Force, Harrows Supergrip, Mission Sabre and Red Dragon Nitrotech.
• Shafts with a top or locking system: with the Unicorn Slik-Stik you only replace the top, the Harrows Colette locks the flight with a screw-on top and the L-Style L-Shaft clicks into an L-Style flight.
